Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Battery current leakage inspection
Inspect the battery current leakage in the following procedures:
- turn the ignition switch off.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to “exterior parts removal and installation” in section 9d (page 9d- 6).
- Disconnect the battery (–) lead wire.
- Measure the current between battery (–) terminal and the battery (–) lead wire using the multi-circuit tester. If the reading exceeds the specified value, leakage is evident.

- Connect the battery (–) terminal and install the front seat. Refer to “battery removal and installation” and “exterior parts removal and installation” in section 9d .

procedures:

removal and installation” in section 9d (page 9d-
6).

Voltage check
If voltage is supplied to the circuit being checked, voltage
check can be used as circuit check.
With all connectors/couplers connected and voltage
applied to the circuit being checked, measure
voltage between each terminal and body ground.
If measurements were taken as shown ...
Continuity check
Measure resistance across coupler “b” (between “a”
and “c” in figure).
If no continuity is indicated (infinity or over limit), the
circuit is open between terminals “a” and “c”.
Disconnect the coupler “b” and measure resistance
between couplers “a” and “b-1”.
