Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Battery removal and installation
Removal
- Remove the front seat. Refer to “exterior parts removal and installation” in section 9d (page 9d- 6).
- Disconnect the battery (–) lead wire (1).
- Disconnect the battery (+) lead wire (2).
| Note be sure to disconnect the battery (–) lead wire (1) first, then disconnect the battery (+) lead wire (2). |
- Remove the battery (3) from the motorcycle.
Installation
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to following points:
| Caution never use anything except the specified battery. |
- Tighten the battery lead wire bolts securely.

Rear brake disc inspection
Brake disc thickness
Check the brake disc for damage or cracks and measure
the thickness using the micrometer.
Replace the brake disc if the thickness is less than the
