Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Owners Manual: Idle speed

Adjust the engine idle speed periodically on the engine at normal operating temperature.

To adjust the idle speed:

  1.  Lift the fuel tank by referring to the air cleaner section.
  2.  Start the engine and warm it up by running at idling speed for 10 minutes in summer (where ambient temperature is 30°c (86°f) or thereabout) or for 20 minutes in winter (where ambient temperature is down to -5°c (23°f) or thereabout).
