Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Owners Manual: Clutch adjustment

Clutch cable play should be 1 0 - 15 mm (0.4 - 0.6 In) measured at the clutch lever end. Adjust clutch cable play according to the following procedure:

Minor adjustment

Turn the clutch cable adjuster 1 to provide the specified play.

Major adjustment

  1. Turn in the adjuster 1 all the way.
  2.  Remove the cap from the right side engine cover.
  3.  Hold the clutch push piece 2 and loosen the lock nut 3.
  4.  Hold the clutch push piece 2 And turn in the adjuster 4 until it stops. Hold the clutch push piece 2 And turn out the adjuster 1/2 turns.
  5. Hold the clutch push piece 2 And tighten the lock nut 3.
  6.  Adjust the clutch cable play with the adjuster 1.
