Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Clutch cable removal and installation
Removal
- Remove the left side cowling. Refer to “exterior parts removal and installation” in section 9d .
- Disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch lever.
Refer to “handlebar removal and installation” in section 6b .
- Remove the clutch cable as shown in the throttle cable routing diagram. Refer to “throttle cable routing diagram” in section 1d .
Installation
- Install the clutch cable as shown in the throttle cable routing diagram. Refer to “throttle cable routing diagram” in section 1d .
- Reinstall the removed parts.

Coolant level

Conrod and crankshaft inspection
Refer to “engine bottom side disassembly” (page 1d-
49).

Conrod small end I.D.
Measure the conrod small end inside diameter using the
small bore gauge.
If the conrod small end inside diameter exceeds the
service limit, replace the conrod.
