Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Owners Manual: Loading guidelines
This motorcycle is primarily intended to carry small items when you are not riding with a passenger. Follow the guidelines below to carry a passenger or cargo:
- balance the load between the left and right side of the motorcycle and fasten it securely.
- Place cargo weight as close to the center of the motorcycle as possible.
- Do not attach large or heavy items to the handlebars, front forks or rear fender.
- Check that both tires are properly inflated to the specified tire pressure for your loading conditions. Refer to page 7-31.
- Improperly loading your motorcycle
can reduce your ability to
balance and steer the motorcycle.
You should ride at reduced speeds, less than 130 km/h (80 mph), when the cargo is loaded or accessory is fitted.
- Adjust suspension setting as necessary.

To adjust the cable play:
Loosen the lock nut 1.
Turn the adjuster 2 so that the
throttle grip has 2.0 - 4.0 Mm
