Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Horn inspection

Note

if the horn sound condition is normal, it is not necessary to inspect the horn button continuity.

Horn button inspection

  1. Remove the air cleaner box. Refer to “air cleaner box removal and installation” in section 1d .
  2.  Disconnect the left handlebar switch lead wire coupler (1).

  1. Inspect the horn button for continuity with a tester.

    If any abnormality is found, replace the left handlebar switch assembly with a new one.

    Refer to “handlebar removal and installation” in section 6b .

Horn inspection

  1. Disconnect the horn coupler (1).

  1. Connect a 12 v battery to the horn terminals. If the sound is not heard from the horn, replace the horn with a new one.
