Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Ignition switch inspection
Inspect the ignition switch in the following procedures:
- remove the air cleaner box. Refer to “air cleaner box removal and installation” in section 1d .
- Disconnect the ignition switch lead wire coupler (1).
- Inspect the ignition switch for continuity with a tester.
If any abnormality is found, replace the ignition switch with a new one.

Inspect the cam chain guide in the following procedures:
remove the cam chain guides. Refer to “cam chain guide / cam chain
tensioner removal and installation” .
Check the contacting surface of the cam chain
guides. If it is worn or damaged, replace it with a new
one.
