| Note check that the transmission is in neutral and the engine stop switch is in the “run” position. Grasp the clutch lever. Check that the fuse is not blown and the battery is fully-charged before diagnosing. |

Piston ring removal and installation
Removal
Remove the piston. Refer to “engine bottom side disassembly” .
Carefully spread the ring opening with your thumbs
and then push up the opposite side of the 1st ring to
remove it.

do not expand the piston ring excessively
since it is apt to be broken down. ...
Fuel pump inspection
Turn the ignition switch on and check that the fuel pump
operates for a few seconds.
If the fuel pump motor does not make operating sound, inspect the fuel pump
circuit connections or inspect the fuel pump relay and to sensor. Refer to “fuel
