Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Cooling fan relay inspection
Inspect the fan relay in the following procedures:
- remove the frame covers. Refer to “exterior parts removal and installation” in section 9d (page 9d- 6).
- Remove the cooling fan relay (1).
- First check the insulation between “a” and “b”
terminals with tester. Then apply 12 volts to “c” and
“d” terminals, (+) to “c” and (–) to “d”, and check the
continuity between “a” and “b”.
If there is no continuity, replace it with a new one.

- Reinstall the removed parts.

Keep the steering damper
shaft 1 clean at all times.
Wipe off any oil residue with a
cloth.
Do not confuse the grease-like
residue on the steering damper's
