Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Service Manual: Throttle cable removal and installation
Removal
- Remove the air cleaner box. Refer to “air cleaner box removal and installation” .
- Remove the right handlebar switch box. Refer to “handlebar removal and installation” in section 6b .
- Remove the throttle cables as shown in the cable routing diagram. Refer to “throttle cable routing diagram” .
Installation
Install the throttle cables in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
- install the throttle cables as shown in the cable routing diagram. Refer to “throttle cable routing diagram” .
- Check the throttle cable play and proper operation.
Refer to “throttle cable play inspection and adjustment” in section 0b .
Throttle cable inspection
Check that the throttle grip moves smoothly from full open to full close. If it does not move smoothly, lubricate the throttle cables.

Air cleaner box removal and installation
Removal
Lift and support the fuel tank. Refer to “fuel tank
removal and installation” in section 1g (page 1g-
