Clean and lubricate drive chain every 1 000 km (600 miles)
Clean and lubricate the drive chain in the following procedures:
- clean the drive chain with kerosine. If the drive chain tends to rust quickly, the intervals must be shortened.
 Caution
These fluids have too great dissolving power for this chain and they can damage the orings. Use only kerosine to clean the drive chain. |
- After cleaning and drying the chain, oil it with a heavyweight motor oil.

Fuel (for USA and Canada)
Use only unleaded gasoline of at least 90 pump octane
(r/2 + m/2).
Gasoline containing mtbe (meltyl tertiary butyl ether),
less than 10% ethanol, or less than 5% methanol with
appropriate cosolvents and corrosion inhibitor is
permissible.
